First lady receives 20 Early Childhood Care, Development and Education Centres from Save the Children


On Wednesday 26 September 2018, Kanyoyo Primary School in Mongu district hosted a handover ceremony for 20 inclusive Early Child Care, Development and Education funded by Save the Children Italy. The ceremony was graced by the first lady of the republic of Zambia Mrs. Esther Lungu, the Minister of general education David Mabumba and the director of operations for the Zambia country office Chilobe Kambikambi.

Jennifer opts for school over early marriage.

18 year old Jennifer, with baby on her laps, is a young mother who resides in Petauke District, about 400 kilometers from the capital city Lusaka.

She comes from Kawanga community in Kalongo village in chief Mwanjabanthu’s area. Kalongo village is a large region with several homesteads spread across the vast land. Life in Kalongo is fairly simple, with families always trekking to cultivation fields as part of their livelihood.

Save the Children Korea Documents education progrmme

Save the Children Korea (SCK) recently documented the Lufwanyama Education Project.

The aim of the visit was to document the human interest stories of marginalised children within the project areas of SCK operations in Zambia.

The Korean Team’s objectives was to capture video footage of marginalised children i.e capturing them in their everyday lives, taking into account how they have been surviving at home whilst sustaining their education.
